Today at Mountain view

worship . study . serve

A lot is going on at Mountain View Lutheran Church & School, and we would love to have you be a part of it. Take part in a Bible study, come to a social event, or join us to receive God's gifts in worship. Our latest Bible studies are listed below, and upcoming events can be found on our CALENDAR. You can also find out more about how to get involved on a regular basis on our GET INVOLVED page.

A Prophet a Week - Sundays

Join us on Sundays from 9:30 - 10:25 am
Location: Room #123
Contact: Kris Schneider and John Chilman

The Minor Prophets of the Old Testament are often thought of as "gloom and doom" books full of warnings and calls to repentance for the Children of Israel. While they do have those, the books provide a wonderful opportunity to study how God's plan of salvation works for His glory and the good of people. We'll explore the books of Joel through Malachi. Though minor in length, this study of a prophet a week (more or less) show us major importance and relevance today in our modern world.

Augsburg Confessions - Sundays

Join us on Sundays from 9:30 - 10:25 am
Location: Room #C-109
Contact: David Pratt and Jon Orr

Have you ever wondered what makes Lutherans Lutheran? Why are there so many different Christian denominations anyway? Does it really matter what we believe about Baptism or the Lord's Supper? Why do Lutherans worship the way they do? We'll find the answers to these questions and more by studying Scripture and the Augsburg Confession. Dare to be Lutheran!

The On-Ramp - Sundays in the Fall and Spring

Join us on Sundays from 9:30 - 10:20 am
Dates: September 16 - December 2
Location: Room #122
Contact: Pastor Derek Klemm

Part a personal journey and exploration of who God is and how you fit into His plan, and part an experience for learning and growth. The journey will cover the teachings of Mountain View and encourage you in your daily walk as a disciple of our Lord Jesus. In addition, this is an entry point for those interested in joining the congregation - however, there is no obligation or expectation to become a member.

Summer Bible Studies

Summer comes and goes. The heat ramps up, the kids are off school, and many a family trip happens to beat the heat. Being out of town and coming back after a week or two has passed makes it challenging for people to feel engaged in a week to week Bible study… but we want you involved in study! Pastor accepts topic requests (in between his own travels) that can be handled in one-week, bite sized pieces. That way, if you miss a week due to being out of town, come on back to Bible study because each week we’ll be exploring a new question!

Membership is not a required part of worshipping at Mountain View Lutheran Church and we welcome anyone to be here with us whether or not they take that step. However, we would love to have you join us as members of the church. The On Ramp is a group led by Pastor Derek, teaching the basics of our beliefs, answering questions, and encouraging growth in our walk as disciples of Jesus Christ. Those in the On Ramp group will have the option to become members but there is no expectation – it is a safe place to learn, wrestle, question and struggle. Also, members of another Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod may join us by calling the church office to transfer their membership. Either way, get in touch via phone or email. We would love to have you walk alongside us in our ministry here at Mountain View.

OUR GOAL at Mountain View is to bring the saving grace of Christ to His people. Through weekly worship, Bible studies, family activities, Sunday School, fellowship, outreach, and our preschool and elementary school, we aim to teach people about their Savior and surround them with a Cloud of Witnesses - a family of believers to love, support, and encourage them in their faith walk. Together, we enjoy the freedom we have in Christ and the joy found in the knowledge of our eternal salvation. Together we are connecting, caring, and sharing through Christ.
