Spiritual Gifts - Sundays in December and June

Join us on Sundays in December and June from 9:30 - 10:20 am
Location: Room #123 (5th Grade Classroom)
Contact: Christina Oka

Dec. 2-16: God has enabled every believer to love and serve in His kingdom through spiritual gifts He bestows on us. Spiritual gifts are not natural talents, Fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22), church positions, or Christian disciplines. Spiritual gifts glorify God and edify others: at home, in the community, and in church.

"Now, to each one, the Holy Spirit displays God's power for the common good." First Corinthians 12:7

Come open your gifts!

The Myth of Righteous Anger - Sundays in December

Join us on Sundays from 9:30 - 10:20 am
Location: Room #C-109
Contact: Pastor Derek Klemm

Dec 9-23: It is hard not to draw the conclusion that we live in a society characterized by constant anger and outrage, and social media provides a megaphone for expressing our anger. Not immune to feelings of anger or the use of social media to express our outrage, Christians, perhaps, are more susceptible to justifying their anger as a kind of “righteous anger.” This three-week study explores whether righteous anger exists in the New Testament, and concludes that the notion of “righteous anger” does not exist. It is a myth.

Summer Bible Studies

Summer comes and goes. The heat ramps up, the kids are off school, and many a family trip happens to beat the heat. Being out of town and coming back after a week or two has passed makes it challenging for people to feel engaged in a week to week Bible study… but we want you involved in study! Pastor accepts topic requests (in between his own travels) that can be handled in one-week, bite sized pieces. That way, if you miss a week due to being out of town, come on back to Bible study because each week we’ll be exploring a new question!

Membership is not a required part of worshipping at Mountain View Lutheran Church and we welcome anyone to be here with us whether or not they take that step. However, we would love to have you join us as members of the church. The On Ramp is a group led by Pastor Derek, teaching the basics of our beliefs, answering questions, and encouraging growth in our walk as disciples of Jesus Christ. Those in the On Ramp group will have the option to become members but there is no expectation – it is a safe place to learn, wrestle, question and struggle. Also, members of another Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod may join us by calling the church office to transfer their membership. Either way, get in touch via phone or email. We would love to have you walk alongside us in our ministry here at Mountain View.

Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!

OUR GOAL at Mountain View is to bring the saving grace of Christ to His people. Through weekly worship, Bible studies, family activities, Sunday School, fellowship, outreach, and our preschool and elementary school, we aim to teach people about their Savior and surround them with a Cloud of Witnesses - a family of believers to love, support, and encourage them in their faith walk. Together, we enjoy the freedom we have in Christ and the joy found in the knowledge of our eternal salvation. Together we are connecting, caring, and sharing through Christ.
